Benefits of TNGIC membership

• Your membership help supports the Tennessee Spatial Data Server - TNGIC sponsors the Tennessee Spatial Data Server (www.tngis.org) which serves GIS data for the state. DOQs, DRGs, boundaries, wetlands, census information, land cover, soils, and watersheds can be downloaded from the site at no cost.

• TNGIC Annual Conference - The TNGIC Annual Conference is the premier GIS conference in the state. The annual meeting includes panel discussions, workshops, vendor displays and poster displays. It is a great networking vehicle for GIS professionals in Tennessee.

• Helps keep the cost of the 3 Regional Conferences low cost to free - TNGIC also sponsors regional GIS conferences in East, Middle, and West Tennessee annually. Each of the 3 events average 100-200 attendees.

• Networking with other GIS professionals in Tennessee - Be it through the annual conference, regional meetings, or the quarterly newsletter, TNGIC is a great way to network with other GIS professionals in the state.

• Once a member you will receive the TNGIC Newsletter - A quarterly newsletter published under the direction of the Secretary keeps members connected to current GIS news and events in the state.

• Frequent Training Opportunities - TNGIC offers several training opportunites throughout the year via the annual conference, regional conferences, and special metadata trainings.

• Receive points towards several professional certifications, notably the GISP.

Membership in TNGIC runs from Conference to Conference. Attendees of the Annual Conference automatically become members of TNGIC. Persons that can't make the conference need to renew their membership to the conference as they can.
